Custom Coordinate

🗺️ Mapping with Custom Coordinates

Whether you need to measure the layout of a floor plan, extract data points from a scanned chart, or map out specific locations on a photograph, the Custom Coordinate tool turns your image into a fully measurable workspace. By allowing you to set your own scale and units, this tool bridges the gap between pixels and real-world dimensions.

Designed for maximum usability, it allows anyone to easily collect and export location data without complex setups.

💡 Key Features

  • Custom Scale Mapping: Define your own X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes. Set the start and end values to match your specific real-world units, whether they are inches, meters, or any other measurement.
  • Flexible Orientation: Choose exactly where your coordinate system’s origin starts (such as Bottom-Left or Top-Left) so it perfectly aligns with your image’s layout.
  • Point & Click Tracking: Once your scale is locked, simply click anywhere on the image. The tool instantly calculates and records the exact coordinates of your click based on your custom scale.
  • Seamless Data Export: Gather multiple points easily. A continuous history of your clicked locations is kept in a text panel, which can be copied to your clipboard with a single click—ready to be pasted into spreadsheets or text editors.

🛠️ How to Use Custom Coordinates

Transforming your image into a mapped coordinate system is quick and straightforward:

Step 1: Define the Reference Area

Use the selection box in your workspace to draw a boundary over the area you want to measure. The width and height of this box will act as the physical boundaries for your custom scale.

Step 2: Set Your Values and Units

In the tool settings, enter the starting and ending numbers for both the X and Y axes. You can also type in the names of your units to keep everything organized. Finally, select the orientation that matches your image (for example, starting from the bottom-left corner).

Step 3: Lock and Click

Check the Lock box to freeze your scale and selection. Your cursor will change to a crosshair. Now, simply click on the points of interest within your image. Every click will automatically log the calculated X and Y coordinates into the history panel.

Step 4: Copy Your Data

Once you have collected all the necessary points, click the Copy to Clipboard button. Your tabulated location data is now ready to be pasted and used in your preferred software.
